Abstract
Considers the choice of the type and quantity of optical fibers in the design of long-distance fiber-optical communication lines (FOCL).The guide of the environment in modern optical cables for transport fiber-optic lines are quartz single-mode optical fiber (OF). In the present work it is proposed to estimate the economic efficiency of use of optical fibers of different types in the period under review. The main transfer parameter S, limiting the speed of information transfer by fiber-optic lines, is the variance. In single-mode OF is a dominant chromatic dispersion, the value of which is determined by the type of optical fibers. In this paper, the expediency of joint application of the fiber-optic long-haul optical cables with standard one-way optical fibers on the recommendation G.652 and one-way optical fibers with the offset is non-zero dispersion on the recommendations of the G.655 and G.656. The peculiarity of this work is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of various options set of optical fiber for the case of consecutive escalating of volumes of information to be transmitted with the appropriate change of the level of transmission systems. As a criterion for choosing the type and number of fibers for optical cables, designed for long-distance fiber-optic lines, using economic net present value.
